Wyman Shoots Chagall. ROLLING STONES, Bill Wyman.

Wyman Shoots Chagall.

Guildford: Genesis Publications, 1998. [Music / Art] LIMITED EDITION, number 321 of 1500 copies, Signed by the author. A superb archive of images with accompanying text, documenting an unlikely meeting between two artists who had achieved greatness in their respective fields; the Stones' bass player and sometime photographer and band historian together with Russian-French modernist painter Marc Chagall. Pp.160, master-printed in full-colour throughout onto uncoated acid-free pape, quarter-bound in Mediterranean blue leather with silk-screened white canvas front and back board and housed in a leather-tipped cloth slip-case. Includes photographic portraits of Wyman and Chagall plus various musicians such as Charlie Watts, Brian Jones, Ringo Starr, Eric Clapton and Elton John, together with a CD of Wyman's solo recordings produced at the time he knew Chagall. The Stones decamped to the South of France on a self-imposed 'Exile' in 1971. Bill initially rented a property in Grasse but built his own property in the hillside town of St Paul de Vence, the area being rich in cultural hitory and populated by characters such as Paul Roux, Cocteau, Simone Signolet, Pablo Picasso and Marc Chagall, whom Wyman met and befriended in 1976. Now fully subscribed, this is a Genesis 'Hall of Fame' title. Item #46144
